Dear friends,
It's only Monday, and the walk to school was cold and "windful!"
I didn't have a hat or gloves! Not much to be grateful for there! However, I had a very productive weekend that I would like to share with you. It all started on Friday afternoon, when under the dark, threatening clouds, I bought and carried home a bookshelf! The thrill of finally organising my books led to cleaning first the den and then the rest of my home. For me, cleaning is like eating chips, once I start I can't stop unless it's "all done", as my two year-old granddaughter says when she doesn't want to eat anymore. I also managed to fit into my weekend a workout at the gym, grocery shopping, cooking, laundry, giving my balcony a "Fall" look, a few hours of reading and writing and of course mothering. Finally,
at 9 pm on Sunday I sat down, with a glass of Merlot, to watch my favourite shows (Desperate Housewives and Pan Am), basking in self-appreciation! Then I wondered, can self-appreciation pass for gratitude? Can we be grateful to ourselves, at least from time to time? Until I find the answers, I will content myself by saying that this morning I am grateful for my physical strength (I did carry a bookshelf home!) and high energy level and my ability to take pleasure in simpler things in life such as a couple of pumpkins and scarecrows on my balcony.
Have a pleasurable day everyone!
