Gratitude Day 39

Dear Friends,
Come to think of it, for this week, I should have cooked and frozen a few generic gratitude dishes ready to warm up and serve! I should have done the same with food. Eating out every night is fun, but costly.
Last night as I took refuge in my den to work on my log, my mother kept asking what I was doing. My son who always blows the whistle on me said: "She is writing her gratitude log." The sound of my mother's laughter stunned me! That's it, I thought, she is going to make fun of my hyper-graphia!
"What are you grateful for?" She yelled out rhetorically from the living room, where she was supposedly watching a movie. "Getting older alone, in such a cold country, no relatives, no husband, no car, no money, probably have to work till you are 70! Your are crazy!" She concluded. I felt like George Costanza, in Seinfeld! Defending myself turns ugly. Agreeing with her, turns even uglier because then she will begin a long tale starting with: "You only have yourself to blame....."
I was very grateful for having teeth, so I could bite my lip, keep calm and carry on!
Have a calm day everyone!
