Gratitude Day 44

Dear friends,
This morning when I walked into my classroom, I couldn’t help but be very grateful to our Union for giving us the Federation Day.
On Friday, I came to school (with my son,) rolled up my sleeves and applied the “if you haven’t worn it for two seasons, throw it out” rule to my classroom! When else, except at the end of June, can one enjoy such endeavour?! I was so grateful for the time, the right frame of mind and the tall, dark, handsom man! There was no mercy! All the “maybe” and “one day” activity sheets went flying into the recycling bin! The “just in case” notes, letters, memos, work samples followed them shortly! The dried up markers, vertically challenged pencils, ugly dirty erasers, broken objects, and whatever I don’t dare to throw out in front of the students, found a resting place at the bottom of the “big” garbage can! One fantastic winter cleaning to shove the old out, and let the new in!
Thanks to my Union and my son, my Chi can finally roam around the classroom freely and happily. And that’s a blessing worth counting!
Have a clear day everyone!
