Dear Friends,
This weekend my thoughts were fluttering around my school, and what a pivotal role it plays in my happiness. No, it's not the confessions of a "workaholic" or an old woman with no cats! There has been a revelation! According to Seligman, the author of Flourish, a "life of well being" (he doesn't like to use the word "happiness" anymore), consists of:
1. positive emotions? Check! - my gratitude log!
2. a sense of accomplishment? Check! - thanks to my colleague's artistic vision and my own dictatorial "directing", my students' performance at the Remembrance Day Assembly was superb!)
3. being engaged in what one does? Any more engaged, and I will be sleeping at school. Check, check and check!
4. my relationships? Check! - I had an amazing time at the Big Night Out with my colleagues and my students' parents. (present and former) Borrowing a line or two from Oprah, I am very grateful to be exactly where I was meant to be, singing the song I was meant to sing!
Have an insightful day Everyone!.
